All you need to know about the SC Humboldt-Uni Berlin
The Schwimmclub Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin e.V. has been existing since May 15th 1997.
Because of the length of the name we often just say in short "SC Humboldt" or "Humboldt Uni".
The name also represents our origin. We come from the swimming section of the many kinds of sports containing HSG Humboldt Universität Berlin (HSG = HochschulSportGemeinschaft). We did this step because we liked to pick up our sporting and financial skills ourselves. This name is an obligation for us to offer an attractive training and leisure time especially for students. Of course, we like to welcome every other swimmer.
Our club has 350 members as of 11 Nov 2007. Our great development during
the last years you can see here:
Until March 2007 Frank von Mach has been Chairman of the SC Humboldt-Uni. Furthermore there are in the commitee:
We are very pleased, that the honorary members Helga Böttcher
and Dorle Krause are with us.
The SC Humboldt-Uni Berlin offers:
training hours for: as well as training hours for: The children and youth team
Hi, Kids and Teens. On every Tuesday afternoon you can demand yourselves and
show your swim and sports rookies how does the Ian Thorpe of the future swim.
By the way, in summer it's really a good impression on the other sex showing a set
of hard muscles instead of soft arms. Well then, check out the
Training Hours
and Contacts and get ready for a first jump into the water.
And for giving your thoughts and opinion to the adults as well as getting informed about every news there are youth representatives who are led by youth advisor Daniel Tochatschek. Further members of the youth representatives are:
The students and masters team
You are good in swimming, maybe challenged in a competition and want to become
faster or at least stay at your level? So you are really right at the students
and masters team. The name seems to irritate. You don't need to be a student to
be with us. But in obligation to our club's name we'd like to offer an attractive
training and leisure time especially for students. Currently we train three times
a week - somtimes with and sometimes without program. On Tuesday and Wednesday
our trainers take care for a good motivation and mood. Most of the one hour taken
Training Hours we swim in average 2.5 km (about 1.6 miles).
If you are in a bad mood or you want to train more intensive, then you are able
to swim your own individual program. But within a team it's much easier, isn't it?
You will find a selection of competitions under Competitions. Just come to one of our training hours or look for your Contacts. We're sure, you'll enjoy it! Beginner's swimming
The SC Humboldt-Uni offers swimming courses for children from five years on. Our
little ones learn swimming by modern methods from experienced and qualified teachers.
Especially in our region rich in water it is really nice and also important to be
able to swim. In a four months beginner's course, usually starting in September
and January, this (surviving) capability will be fixed up.
The current dates for swimming courses you will find under News & Info. Who is interested now can register under Contacts or during one of our Training Hourse. Aquafitness
Fit by aquafitness. It doesn't matter if you are male or female, young or old - this
kind of physical exercise becomes more and more popular. In fact, with brisk
music and using different equipments it will never be boring. Fit by Fun! - that's
the slogan ... and not by desolate jogging, hard biking or monotonous lifting
of weights in a fitness centre. You don't need to be able to swim to be with us,
because aquafitness is performed in shallow water of about 1 meter (about 3 feet) depth.
The hit - the first visit is free to get some impressions. After that every course which takes a month costs just 10 Euro. Who wouldn't join us under such conditions? And now look Contacts, check Training Hours and go to Schwimmhalle Fischerinsel to do aquafitness with the SC Humboldt-Uni Berlin. See you :-).
